- 1/2 cup bicarbonate

- Peel the onions and cut them into thick slices, about one centimeter long.
- Carefully separate the rings to obtain rings of different sizes.
- In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, corn flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and baking soda.
- In another container, combine the milk with the egg until the mixture is homogeneous.

- Pass each ring first through the thick mixture so that it adheres well.
- Then pass them through the rest of the dry ingredients to form a complete batter.
- If you want extra crunch, also coat them in breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil over medium-high heat in a deep skillet.
- Fry the rings in small batches to prevent the oil from cooling.
- Remove them when they are golden and crispy, approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
- Place on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with lemon or sauces to taste.
