- 200g wheat flour
- 100ml cold water
- 5 ml of salt
- 500g large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 large carrot, grated
- 1 large grated potato
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 5 ml mustard seeds
- 5 ml ground cumin
- 1/10 ml turmeric powder
- 1/10 ml chili flakes
- 5 ml chopped fresh cilantro
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt to taste
How to prepare it step by step?
Preparation
- In a bowl, mix the wheat flour with the salt and cold water until forming a homogeneous dough. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In a hot pan, add a little oil and sauté the onion, garlic, mustard seeds, and cumin until the onion is transparent.
- Add the shrimp, carrots, and potatoes, seasoning with turmeric, chili flakes, and salt. Cook until the shrimp are pink and the vegetables are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool. Add chopped cilantro and mix well.
- Divide the dough into small portions, roll each portion into a thin circle, and fill with the shrimp and vegetable mixture.
- Close the samosas forming triangles and secure the edges with a fork.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the samosas until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on absorbent paper.
