How to prepare it step by step?

- Preheat the oven to 180 °C and grease a 24 cm round mold, lining the base with greaseproof paper.
- Separate the whites from the egg yolks.
- Beat the egg whites until stiff with a pinch of salt until stiff.
- In another bowl, beat the yolks with the sugar until you obtain a creamy and clear mixture.
- Gently incorporate the egg whites into the yolk mixture with enveloping movements.
- Sift together the flour, cornstarch, and baking powder, and slowly add them to the wet mixture, mixing carefully so as not to dilute the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, checking with a toothpick to ensure it comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before unmolding.
- Beat the cream with icing sugar and vanilla essence until you obtain firm chantilly.
- Cut the cake horizontally to obtain two or three layers as desired.
- Fill each layer with dulce de leche and chantilly cream, distributing it evenly.
- Cover the cake with the rest of the whipped cream or meringue.
- Decorate with chocolate shavings, fruit, or icing sugar as desired.
