Beef with coffee and hot chili
What does it include?
Ingredients
- 600 g beef, cubed
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 cup of meat broth
- 1 tablespoon instant coffee
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Olive oil, salt and pepper
How to prepare it step by step?
Preparation
- Season the meat cubes with salt and pepper so they acquire flavor from the beginning.
- In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Brown the meat until all sides are seared, about 5 minutes. Remove and reserve.
- Chop the onion and garlic finely. In the same saucepan, sauté them until the onion is soft and translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Add the meat back to the casserole, sprinkle with chili powder, and mix to distribute evenly.
- Dissolve the instant coffee in the hot broth and add it to the casserole.
- Cover and cook over low heat for about 1 hour, or until the meat is tender. Check every 15 minutes to ensure it doesn't dry out; add more broth if necessary.
- Taste and adjust the salt and pepper.
- Serve hot accompanied by mashed potatoes, white rice, or soft tortillas.
- Optional: garnish with fresh chopped parsley just before serving.
