- 600 g lamb meat in pieces
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 200 g prunes
- 400 ml meat broth
- Olive oil, salt and pepper
How to prepare it step by step?
Preparation
- Season the lamb pieces with salt and pepper so that they take on flavor from the beginning.
- Heat oil in a saucepan and brown the meat on all sides until golden. Remove and reserve.
- Chop the onion and garlic. Sauté them in the same saucepan until the onion is tender and lightly golden.
- Add the cinnamon and cumin, mix and cook for 1 minute to release the aromas of the spices.
- Return the lamb to the saucepan and add the broth. Mix to distribute the flavors.
- Cook covered over low heat for approximately 1 hour, or until the meat is very tender and easily pulls apart.
- Add the prunes and cook for 15 more minutes so they integrate into the sauce, thickening it slightly.
- Adjust salt and pepper when tasting.
- Serve hot accompanied by couscous, rice or flatbread.
- Optional: decorate with toasted almonds and fresh cilantro leaves.
