- 10 ml olive oil
- 5 ml ground cumin
- 5 ml sweet paprika
- 5 ml sal
- 1 bay leaf
- 500 g fresh grape leaves

- 15 ml white vinegar

- In a frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the onion until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the raisins and walnuts, cooking for 2-3 minutes until the raisins plump up and the walnuts are fragrant.
- Stir in the rice, cumin, paprika, and salt, mixing well until the rice is evenly coated. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Moisten the grape leaves with water, lay one flat, and place a tablespoon of the rice mixture at the end. Roll tightly into a cylinder, tucking in the sides.
- Arrange the rolls snugly in a pot, add water to cover them, and place a bay leaf on top.
- Cover and cook over low heat for 40 minutes, until the rice is tender and the flavors meld beautifully.
- Serve warm with a splash of vinegar for a tangy finish.
