Full description
Horchata de chufa is a traditional Spanish beverage, especially beloved in the Valencian Community. Known for its mild, slightly sweet, and refreshingly nutty flavor, this drink is an ideal choice for warm summer days. Made from tigernuts, a small, highly nutritious tuber rich in fiber, minerals, and antioxidants, this homemade version offers a natural and healthy alternative to commercial soft drinks. By preparing it at home, you can enjoy a more authentic horchata without additives, with the freedom to adjust its sweetness to your liking. Although it requires time to hydrate, the process is straightforward, and the result is incredibly rewarding, especially when served ice-cold with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
