- 480 ml melted butter
- 1 package of phyllo dough (approx. 20 sheets)
- 240 ml chopped walnuts
- 240 ml chopped almonds
- 1/480 ml chopped pistachios
- 240 ml granulated sugar
- 1/480 ml honey
- 240 ml of water
- 5 ml cinnamon powder
- Vanilla ice cream, to serve
How to prepare it step by step?
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Grease a rectangular mold with butter.
- Layer 5 sheets of phyllo dough in the mold, brushing each with melted butter.
- Repeat until you have 5 layers.
- Evenly sprinkle the walnuts, almonds, and pistachios over the top layer.
- Cover with another 5 layers of buttered phyllo dough.
- Continue layering with the remaining phyllo dough and nuts.
- In a pot, combine sugar, honey, and water. Cook over medium heat until a thick caramel forms, stirring occasionally.
- Pour the caramel over the layered phyllo dough and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Allow to cool completely.
- Cut into squares and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
